Siamese Cats at KittyCatKat™

At KittyCatKat™, we raise Siamese kittens in our home in West Milton, Ohio. Our program focuses on producing healthy, well-socialized Siamese with excellent temperaments and strong family bonds.

We raise two visual styles of Siamese, but they are all the same breed, share the same temperament, and come from the same historic lineage. Both are short-haired, blue-eyed colorpoint cats — the differences you see are primarily coat texture and head shape depending on registry lineage.

Our Siamese are registered as follows:

  • CFA: Siamese (moderate wedge, extremely sleek coat)
  • CFF: Old Style Siamese (rounder wedge, traditional short coat)

In our program, the Old Style Siamese and Balinese represent the classic Applehead type, known for their rounder wedge head and traditional Siamese appearance.

Families often describe our Siamese in two visual groups, so we use these descriptions simply to help explain what they are seeing:

Moderate Wedge Siamese — tighter, extremely short “slinky” coat with elegant lines; commonly CFA-registered.

Traditional / Applehead Siamese — classic short coat with a rounder wedge head. These cats are commonly referred to as Applehead Siamese and are registered in our program as Old Style Siamese through CFF.

No matter the coat texture or head shape, all of these cats are true Siamese and share the same affectionate, intelligent, and talkative personality the breed is known for.

What Is a Siamese?

The Siamese is one of the oldest and most recognizable cat breeds in the world. Originating in Thailand (formerly Siam), these cats were treasured companions known for their bold personalities and unmistakable colorpoint pattern.

In modern registries, the name Siamese refers to a family of cats with blue eyes, short coats, and pointed coloration. The difference between “moderate wedge” and “old style” is simply a matter of lineage and registry style — not breed.

How We Label Our Siamese

Because we raise both moderate CFA-style Siamese and traditional CFF Old Style Siamese, our descriptions help families understand the visual differences they may notice.

CFA Siamese
Short, extremely sleek coat
Moderate wedge head
Elegant, athletic appearance

CFF Old Style Siamese
Classic short coat
Rounder wedge head / Applehead type
Traditional 1960s–1970s Siamese style
